All requirements for graduation must be met in full before a student can participate in graduation exercises. This means students must have completed the required credits and have passed the New Mexico Competency Test before the end of the regular school year. The New Mexico Competency Test is given early spring. The test covers the following areas: Reading, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Composition. The counseling office will offer assistance and information concerning financial assistance, but the student and parent bear the responsibility of making application for scholarships and tuition stipends. Counseling services are available to all students before, during, and after shool, as the need presents itself. Counseling services may be initiated by the counselor, teacher, parent, or student. When the student feels the need to talk to someone about a problem, he or she may come by the Guidence Office and ask the secretary to schedule him or her at a convenient time for everyone. A request slip will then be sent to the teacher at the appointed time to call the student to the guidance office.
