Hello!!! My name is Gus Martinez!!!!! I barely graduated two days ago and I just wanted to post a message to all my teachers who I couldn’t say goodbye. To Mr. Shock: You are an inspiration for me and for a lot of students interested in science and technology!!! You are a great teacher Mr. Shock and I thank your support and your teachings. THANKS A LOT!!!! To Mr. Morrow: It was an honor and my privilege to be your student Mr. Morrow. Thanks to you I took off my fears of Calculus and got one of the best grades in you class. I will always remember you as a great teacher Mr. Morrow. DERIVE TO THE LEFT!!!! INTEGRATE TO THE RIGHT!!!! (a really nerdy cheer by Mr. Morrow. To Mrs. Nina Nuñez: Thank you for your encouragement during you engineering class. You are a great teacher and I will always have you in my heart and mind as a teacher and as a friend. To every teacher I had in Mayfield, in my first and last year in Mayfield High: Thank you for your support and your patience!!!!!!!!! Anyone of the members of wet paint I would appreciate that you give this to the specific teachers I mentioned above. THANK YOU MAYFIELD HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!! I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME THERE!

When I was in ROTC at Mayfield (a long time ago), we did marching/physical stuff on tuesdays and Thursdays. Uniforms were worn on thursdays. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday were used for classroom study. The typical first year topic was the history of flight and basic aeronautics. Future years went a little deeper in to flight principles including some flight ground school types of topics (course plotting, basic piloting principles, etc.)
In the winter (if you can call it that in Las Cruces) we didn't do a lot of marching outside unless the weather was decent. But there's a lot you can still do inside as well, and we typically had uniform inspections on Thursday as well.
I liked it and regret that I couldn't fit it intom y schedule my senior year. That is when you really get to take on more leadership roles for the younger classes.

I had some great teachers at MHS, that set me up for the rest of my life. I see that a couple are still there.
To Mr. Schock (Mr. Shock is gonna getcha!) - I'll never forget the vein in your forehead, or how fun you made biology. Thanks for holding us to high standards, and for making science fun and exciting. If you ever read this, I have a puzzling chemistry question for you.
To Mrs. Joy - Thanks for being my first introduction to calculus. It taught me to love calculus before idiotic foreighn graduate students could make me hate it. Six calculus courses later and a math minor and yours was still my favorite calculus class.
To Mr. Tomlin - Thanks for giving me my only "C" in high school. It woke me up and made me get my butt back in gear. As much as I always claimed to hate English in school, reading is still one of my favorite activities.
To all of the others who no longer seem to be at Mayfield, thank you! Hopefully you now hang out with people who treat you better. Youth really is wasted on the young.
You all made great impressions on me. One of my favorite things to to is teach others, and I owe that to you. I'm now an instructor at my company and teach engineering classes to other employees and customers. I couldn't have done it without you!

Hah, reading back over that, I see I would have gotten another C in English. I'm afraid I'm from the spell checking-dependant generation. Sorry for the poor typing/spelling.

Since MHS has redirected its main site to this, why did you spend extra time to make it here? What features make this better than just having an LCPS-site?
Just a little curious.

WetPaint is a company that hosts free wikis. The old LCPS website required DreamWeaver and this site does not require knowing any certain language. It's much easier and allows more than one person to help maintain it.
