When I was in ROTC at Mayfield (a long time ago), we did marching/physical stuff on tuesdays and Thursdays. Uniforms were worn on thursdays. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday were used for classroom study. The typical first year topic was the history of flight and basic aeronautics. Future years went a little deeper in to flight principles including some flight ground school types of topics (course plotting, basic piloting principles, etc.)In the winter (if you can call it that in Las Cruces) we didn't do a lot of marching outside unless the weather was decent. But there's a lot you can still do inside as well, and we typically had uniform inspections on Thursday as well. I liked it and regret that I couldn't fit it intom y schedule my senior year. That is when you really get to take on more leadership roles for the younger classes. Do you find this valuable? |
